PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO NORTHWESTERN AND
NORTH-CENTRAL ILLINOIS DURING THE PREDAWN HOURS AND CONTINUE TO
SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY.
THE LATEST GUIDANCE AND UPSTREAM TRENDS SUGGEST THAT THE SYSTEM
RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANTICIPATED SNOW AND WINTRY MIX OF
PRECIPITATION TYPES IS TRENDING A LITTLE FARTHER SOUTH...SO MORE
OF THE REGION WILL SEE ALL SNOW AND THE WINTRY MIX OF SNOW...RAIN
AND SLEET SHOULD BE CONFINED TO LOCATIONS GENERALLY SOUTH OF A
LINE FROM PONTIAC...ILLINOIS TO RENSSELAER...INDIANA. ALSO...TOTAL
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS SHOULD BE A LITTLE LIGHTER THAN PREVIOUSLY
ANTICIPATED WITH UP TO 1 TO 3 INCHES SOUTH OF THE ILLINOIS AND
KANKAKEE RIVERS...DROPPING OFF TO A DUSTING TO A FEW TENTHS OF AN
INCH TOWARD THE WISCONSIN BORDER.
NORTHEAST WINDS WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY. THIS MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW
CAUSING REDUCED VISIBILITY...MAINLY IN OPEN AREAS NORTH OF I-80.
SOUTH OF I-80...THE CHARACTER OF THE SNOW WILL BE WETTER AND
HEAVIER...LIMITING THE POTENTIAL FOR BLOWING SNOW.
TRAVEL MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY FROM DAYBREAK THROUGH
SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
