PRECIPITATION WILL OVERSPREAD THE REGION TONIGHT AND CONTINUE
THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY...BRINGING A WINTRY MIX TO PORTIONS OF THE
REGION AND ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL. PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS
PRIMARILY SNOW NORTH OF I-80 TONIGHT...BUT A WINTRY MIX OF
SNOW...SLEET...AND RAIN IS EXPECTED TO THE SOUTH. PRECIPITATION
WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW SOUTH OF I-80 EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON
SUNDAY. SNOWFALL TOTALS ARE GENERALLY EXPECTED TO FALL IN THE 1 TO
3 INCH RANGE NORTHWEST OF A STREATOR TO WAUKEGAN LINE...AND 2 TO 4
INCH RANGE TO THE SOUTHEAST.
NORTHEAST WINDS WITH GUSTS IN THE 30 TO 35 RANGE ARE EXPECTED TO
DEVELOP THROUGH THE DAY SUNDAY. THIS MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH REDUCED VISIBILITY...MAINLY IN
OPEN AREAS NORTH OF I-80. SOUTH OF I-80...WETTER THAN AVERAGE SNOW
MAY LIMIT THE AMOUNT OF BLOWING SNOW TO SOME DEGREE.
TRAVEL MAY BECOME HAZARDOUS...ESPECIALLY FROM DAYBREAK THROUGH
MIDDAY SUNDAY.
