Snow is expected to develop across northwest Illinois tonight and
may result in a dusting of snow for areas around and west of I-39
prior to sunrise Thursday.

DISCUSSION:

Dangerous travel conditions are expected Thursday through Friday
night due to a combination of accumulating snow and blowing snow
and temperatures becoming bitterly cold. Icy roads will likely
develop as temperatures plummet on Thursday behind a powerful
Arctic front. Near blizzard conditions are possible Thursday night
through Friday night, especially in open areas. Conditions may
become life threatening for anyone who becomes stranded.

Very strong winds Thursday night into Friday may result in some
tree damage and power outages. Dangerously low wind chills are
expected Thursday night through Sunday.
