This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk tonight for the Illinois shore.

DISCUSSION...

An isolated thunderstorm or two are possible late this afternoon
into the evening mainly southeast of Interstate 57. Additional
showers with embedded thunderstorms begin to move into the area
from the northwest overnight. Severe weather is not anticipated.

Strong north northeast winds behind a cold frontal passage will
build waves along the Lake Michigan shore this evening creating
dangerous swimming conditions at Illinois beaches.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A long duration rain event with multiple rounds of showers and
embedded thunderstorms is expected and may result in a limited
flooding risk for some areas. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches
are forecast for areas along the Wisconsin-Illinois border and
areas west of I-39 (locally higher amounts are possible). This
may result in ponding on roadways and low-lying areas as well as
some area river rises.

The long duration of strong northerly winds over Lake Michigan
will result in continued high waves and dangerous currents along
Illinois and northwest Indiana beaches through early Monday
morning.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
