THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST MAY PRODUCE:
HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF HALF DOLLARS.
LOCALLY DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING.
AND BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

CLUSTERS OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE NORTH AND WEST OF
INTERSTATE 55 THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON AND SPREAD EAST
DURING THE EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON. THE GREATEST THREAT OF
THUNDERSTORMS...INCLUDING ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS...WILL BE BETWEEN
12PM AND 4PM. THE GREATEST RISK OF SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE ALONG
AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 55 INCLUDING ALL OF NORTHWEST INDIANA.
THUNDERSTORMS WILL END FROM WEST TO EAST THIS AFTERNOON.

DISCUSSION:

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EARLY TODAY WILL CONSOLIDATE
ALONG A COLD FRONT CURRENTLY OVER THE IOWA ILLINOIS STATE LINE.
STORMS WILL INTENSIFY AS THEY PUSH EAST WITH THE MAIN THREATS
BEING DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL. AN ISOLATED BRIEF TORNADO
CANNOT BE COMPLETELY RULED OUT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

NORTHWEST WINDS COULD GUST OVER 45 MPH SATURDAY.

SPOTTERS MAY BE NEEDED BETWEEN 12 PM AND 4 PM...ESPECIALLY EAST
OF INTERSTATE 55.
