THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY
PRODUCE:
OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
WIND GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
WHILE MOST AREAS WILL SEE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS...AREAS
EAST OF A ROCKFORD TO GIBSON CITY LINE WILL HAVE THE BEST
CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING.
DISCUSSION:
A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL STALL OVER NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND INDIANA
EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. A LAKE BREEZE WILL ALSO FORM AND PUSH
INLAND TODAY. CONVERGENCE ALONG BOTH OF THESE BOUNDARIES MAY
PRODUCE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.
INSTABILITY WILL BE WEAKER THAN YESTERDAY SO SEVERE WEATHER IS
ONCE AGAIN NOT EXPECTED. HOWEVER...DRY AIR AT THE SURFACE AND
ALOFT WILL ALLOW ANY STORMS THAT DO DEVELOP TO HAVE STRONG
DOWNDRAFTS THAT COULD PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS UP TO 40 MPH.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED MAINLY AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...AND AGAIN MONDAY INTO TUESDAY.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
