THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY
PRODUCE:

OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
BRIEF GUSTY WINDS.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP DURING THE EARLY AND
MID AFTERNOON HOURS. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS MAY PERSIST INTO
THE EVENING HOURS. AREAS WITH THE GREATEST CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BE EAST OF A ROCKFORD TO
KANKAKEE AND WATSEKA LINE.

DISCUSSION:

A WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL APPROACH THE REGION FROM
THE NORTH LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING. THIS DISTURBANCE
WILL PROVED LIFT AND COOLING OF AIR ALOFT WHICH COMBINED WITH
AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING LOW LEVEL INSTABILITY TO PRODUCE
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THUNDERSTORMS
WILL BE MOST LIKELY TO DEVELOP IN AREAS OF ENHANCED LOW LEVEL
CONVERGENCE...SUCH AS THE LAKE BREEZE BOUNDARY FROM LAKE
MICHIGAN. ANY THUNDERSTORMS WILL DISSIPATE BY LATE EVENING.
DUE TO THE PRESENCE OF ONLY RELATIVELY WEAK INSTABILITY AND
THE LACK OF STRONG DEEP LAYER WIND SHEAR...SEVERE WEATHER IS
NOT EXPECTED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED MAINLY AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...AND AGAIN MONDAY.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
