...QUICK BURST OF SNOW LIKELY THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING...
CONDITIONS CONTINUE TO BE VERY FAVORABLE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF
MODERATE TO BRIEFLY HEAVY SNOWFALL ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM
ROCKFORD TO AURORA TO VALPARAISO THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY
EVENING.
A FAST MOVING DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE
AREA BRINGING SNOW TO THE ROCKFORD AREA BEGINNING AROUND 1PM...AND
TO THE CHICAGO METRO AREA BEGINNING CLOSER TO 3 PM...THEN TO
NORTHWEST INDIANA BY EARLY EVENING. THE MOST INTENSE SNOW MAY ONLY
LAST 2 TO POSSIBLY 3 HOURS BUT AMOUNTS OF UP TO 2 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE NORTH OF THE ROCKFORD TO AURORA TO VALPARAISO LINE. THE
LOWEST AMOUNTS WILL BE FOUND NEAR THIS LINE AND INCREASE TOWARD 2
INCHES NORTHWARD TO THE WISCONSIN BORDER.
THE MAIN CONCERN WILL BE AN ADVERSE IMPACT ON THE AFTERNOON RUSH
HOUR...INCLUDING IN THE CHICAGO METRO...WITH MODERATE OR BRIEFLY
HEAVY SNOW OCCURRING. THE MOST INTENSE SNOW LOOKS TO WIND DOWN
PRIOR TO THE AFTERNOON ROCKFORD COMMUTE.
