AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ACROSS PORTIONS OF
NORTHEASTERN ILLINOIS DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. THESE
STORMS ARE THEN EXPECTED TO MOVE SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS EAST
CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA DURING THE AFTERNOON.
THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD EXIT THE OUTLOOK AREA TO THE SOUTHEAST
BEFORE EVENING.

A COLD FRONT WAS PUSHING SOUTHEAST ACROSS FAR NORTHERN ILLINOIS
LATE THIS MORNING. THIS FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE SOUTHEAST
INTO EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA THIS AFTERNOON.
DAYTIME HEATING...COMBINED WITH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE CONVERGENCE
AHEAD OF THE FRONT AND A WEAK MID LEVEL DISTURBANCE...WILL
LIKELY LEAD TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF ISOLATED TO SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON ALONG THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY.
THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY MOVE SOUTHEAST OF THE OUTLOOK AREA BY
LATE AFTERNOON AS THE FRONT CONTINUES ITS SOUTHEASTWARD PUSH.
WHILE THERE WILL LIKELY BE SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY AND SHEAR TO
PRODUCE A FEW LOCALLY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...WIDESPREAD SEVERE
