THE INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT OFFICE OF AIR
QUALITY HAS DECLARED THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 1ST AN AIR POLLUTION
ACTION DAY FOR NORTHWEST INDIANA DUE TO ELEVATED OZONE LEVELS.

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER MAINLY NORTH
CENTRAL AND FAR NORTHERN ILLINOIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON...AND OVER MUCH
OF THE REMAINDER OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA FRIDAY
NIGHT. THERE WILL BE A LINGERING CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY...
MAINLY SOUTH OF A LINE FROM APPROXIMATELY PONTIAC ILLINOIS TO
GARY INDIANA.

THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS ALONG THE INDIANA AND
ILLINOIS SHORES OF LAKE MICHIGAN FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY NIGHT.
