THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
BRIEF DOWNPOURS.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS...MAINLY NORTHWEST OF A PERU TO
WOODSTOCK LINE AFTER 4 AM CDT.

DISCUSSION:

A STRONG MID LEVEL DISTURBANCE AND ASSOCIATED SURFACE LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL TRACK ACROSS SOUTHERN CANADA INTO ONTARIO
TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY. A COLD FRONT TRAILING FROM THIS LOW
WILL EXTEND SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST OVERNIGHT...AND
WILL LIKELY BE APPROACHING NORTHWEST ILLINOIS BY WEDNESDAY
MORNING. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE AHEAD OF THE
COLD FRONT...AND MAY MOVE INTO NORTHERN ILLINOIS TOWARD
SUNRISE. INSTABILITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LIMITED...WITH
THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY WEAKENING AS THEY APPROACH THE AREA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA ON
WEDNESDAY...AS THE COLD FRONT CONTINUES TO PUSH SOUTHEAST ACROSS
NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
MAY LINGER INTO THE EVENING HOURS ACROSS EASTERN ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA...GENERALLY EAST OF INTERSTATE 55.

THERE WILL BE ANOTHER PERIODIC CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING
FRIDAY NIGHT OVER NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...AND EXPANDING ACROSS
THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
