THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

* WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH
* PEA SIZED HAIL
* OCCASIONAL LIGHTNING
* HEAVY DOWNPOURS/EXCESSIVE RAINFALL

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

* THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS
AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA. THESE STORMS WILL MOVE ACROSS THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER LATE TONIGHT...EVENTUALLY SHIFTING EAST AND
ACROSS THE EASTERN OUTLOOK AREA AND MICHIGAN BY SATURDAY
MORNING.

DISCUSSION:

* AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE THROUGH THE REGION
OVERNIGHT. INSTABILITY IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE ACROSS THE
PLAINS AND SHIFT EAST...ACROSS WESTERN ILLINOIS LATER TODAY.
WHILE THERE WILL LIKELY BE SUFFICIENT INSTABILITY AND SHEAR TO
PRODUCE A FEW LOCALLY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS...WIDESPREAD SEVERE
WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE AGAIN POSSIBLE SATURDAY AFTERNOON ACROSS
NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT
SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY BECOME SEVERE.

THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS ALONG THE INDIANA
SHORE OF LAKE MICHIGAN SUNDAY MORNING. THERE IS THEN AN INCREASED
RISK FOR RIP CURRENTS ALONG THE ILLINOIS AND INDIANA SHORES SUNDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

THERE WILL BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY THROUGH
THURSDAY.
