...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 115 AM CDT SUNDAY FOR
BOONE, SOUTHERN WINNEBAGO, LAKE IL AND MCHENRY COUNTIES...
At 1129 PM CDT, local law enforcement and emergency management
report flooding on going. Between 2 and nearly 5 inches of rain has
fallen across much of the warning area and this has resulted in
flooding.
HAZARD...Flash flooding.
SOURCE...Law enforcement and emergency management.
IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Rockford, Waukegan, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Buffalo Grove,
Crystal Lake, Wheeling, Northbrook, North Chicago, Gurnee,
Mundelein, Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake
Beach, McHenry, Belvidere, Vernon Hills, Woodstock and Zion.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flash Flood Warning means rapid-onset flooding is imminent or may
already be occurring. Persons along creeks, drainage ditches, and
other waterways should take immediate precautions to protect life
and property.
