temperatures may also lead to ice jams on area rivers, which could
cause localized flooding.

Dangerous travel conditions are expected Thursday through Friday
night due to a combination of accumulating snow and blowing snow
and temperatures becoming bitterly cold. Icy roads will likely
develop as temperatures plummet on Thursday behind a powerful
Arctic front. Near blizzard conditions are possible Thursday night
through Friday night, especially in open areas. Conditions may
become life threatening for anyone who becomes stranded.

Very strong winds Thursday night into Friday may result in some
tree damage and power outages. Dangerously low wind chills are
expected Thursday night through Sunday.

conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches,
most of the snow occurring Thursday. Winds gusting as high as
50 mph expected. Wind chill values of 25 to 35 below zero
expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central and northeast
Illinois.

* WHEN...From 9 AM Thursday to 6 AM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Falling or blowing snow may result in white out
conditions with zero visibility at times, making travel
extremely difficult. Power outages will also be possible as a
result of strong wind gusts to 50 mph. Roads will likely
quickly become ice covered as temperatures rapidly fall on
Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 25
to 35 below zero are likely Thursday night through Friday
