There is a potential for a brief period of light freezing rain, possibly mixed with some sleet, as precipitation begins across north-central and northwest Illinois this morning. A few patchy slick spots could develop on the coldest elevated surfaces, although significant impacts are not expected. Any icing threat will end by noon.
