THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Limited Tornado Risk.
DISCUSSION:
An area of storms across Iowa early this morning will slowly
move east southeast through late morning. Some of these
thunderstorms may impact part of the area during mid morning
through early afternoon. This is most favored south of a Dixon
to Joliet to Valparaiso line. A few of the storms could be
severe with mainly a wind and heavy rain threat.
Thunderstorm potential increases again after dark from west to
east across the area. Some of these storms may be severe with
mainly a scattered damaging wind threat. Heavy rainfall is
likely with any storms tonight, and it is possible some
training occurs mainly in north central Illinois. This could
result in flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Gusty northwest to north winds Tuesday afternoon and night will
result in a heightened risk of rip current for the northwest
Indiana shores.

Spotters may be needed today and tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving to the east at 20 mph through this evening, and moving to
the east at 35 mph overnight.
