THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Significant Hail Risk...up to larger than golf ball size.
Elevated Tornado Risk.
Significant Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk.
Elevated Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Scattered thunderstorms will be seen through mid afternoon.
Some of these storms may produce large hail in the early to mid
afternoon. Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage
late this afternoon and more so after dark. Some severe storms
are likely. Storms are expected to evolve into a complex as they
move east across the area into early overnight.

A large hail threat exists across the entire area with storms late
this afternoon and tonight, and some of these storms could produce
very large hail. The threat of damaging winds and tornadoes exists
primarily south of Interstate 88 this evening into early overnight,
with the highest risk along and south of Interstate 80.


.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Elevated Snow Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Snow Risk.
Sunday Night and Monday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Light accumulation of snow is forecast across far northern Illinois
on Wednesday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters will likely be needed this afternoon into tonight. Due to
very fast storm motion and the likelihood of the most intense storms
in the region being after dark, spotters should use extreme caution.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving to the northeast or east at 65 MPH.
