THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado Risk.
Limited Hail Risk...up to Quarter size.
Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Scattered thunderstorms are likely north of I-80 early this
morning. Although the severe threat is low this morning, these
thunderstorms will be capable of producing hail. Additional
scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, especially
across northwest Indiana and points eastward. It's during this
time that the threat of severe weather is elevated. The primary
hazard would likely be damaging winds, with the threat quickly
ending by early this evening.

A period of snow is expected tonight into early Saturday morning.
Some minor accumulations are possible, especially near the
Wisconsin border where around an inch could fall.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Additional minor snow accumulation is possible, before the snow
exits the area Saturday morning.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this afternoon for areas in northwest
Indiana.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving northeast at 50 to 60 MPH.
