THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET...FREEZING RAIN...AND RAIN WILL CONTINUE
ACROSS THE AREA TODAY...WITH PRECIPITATION LIKELY TRANSITIONING
TO ALL RAIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH THIS AFTERNOON. AT LEAST MINOR ICE
ACCUMULATIONS ARE LIKELY ACROSS MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK AREA... WITH
SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF A QUARTER INCH OR MORE PROBABLE
OVER PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS MAINLY WEST OF THE FOX
RIVER VALLEY. SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY OVER NORTH
CENTRAL AND FAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS...WITH AMOUNTS OF AN INCH OR
HIGHER POSSIBLE.
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON.
WATER LEVELS REMAIN ELEVATED ON AREA RIVERS AND CREEKS...AND WILL
CONTINUE TO RISE THROUGH MIDWEEK. LOCALIZED FLOODING WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS EVENING DUE TO HEAVY RAINFALL ON SATURATED
GROUND.
IN ADDITION TO THE PRECIPITATION...THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE
STRONG WINDS GUSTING TO 45 TO 55 MPH TODAY AND THIS EVENING.
GUSTS TO 50 TO 60 MPH ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE IMMEDIATE NORTHEAST
ILLINOIS LAKE SHORE...WHICH WILL MOST LIKELY LEAD TO LAKESHORE
FLOODING.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
WATER LEVELS WILL REMAIN HIGH ON AREA CREEKS AND RIVERS THROUGH
MUCH OF THE WEEK.
