THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST STORMS MAY PRODUCE:

HEAVY DOWNPOURS.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING.
SMALL HAIL.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM
ROCKFORD TO MORRIS IN ILLINOIS TO FOWLER INDIANA THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE ENTIRE
OUTLOOK AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

WEAK FORCING ALONG A QUASI-STATIONARY BOUNDARY MAY SPAWN A FEW
THUNDERSTORMS THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS FAR SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST
PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA. THIS BOUNDARY IS EXPECTED TO LIFT
NORTH AS A WARM FRONT LATE TONIGHT AND A LOW LEVEL JET IS FORECAST
TO DEVELOP...FUELING THUNDERSTORMS THROUGH THE NIGHT. THE BEST
CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT.


PORTIONS OF THE UPPER ILLINOIS RIVER WILL REMAIN NEAR BANK-FULL.
PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL LATE TONIGHT MAY CAUSE ADDITIONAL RISES
ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT AS A COLD FRONT
MOVES ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ON MONDAY...AS WELL AS A THREAT FOR HEAVY RAIN AND
POSSIBLY LOCALIZED FLOODING.

PORTIONS OF THE UPPER ILLINOIS RIVER WILL REMAIN NEAR BANK-FULL
THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING. PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL THROUGH MONDAY
NIGHT MAY CAUSE ADDITIONAL RISES ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS.

HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REACH THE LOW 90S ON FRIDAY.
COMBINED WITH DEW POINTS IN THE MID 70S...HEAT INDICES BETWEEN 100
AND 105 ARE POSSIBLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY.
