THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME MAY PRODUCE:

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
NICKLE SIZED HAIL.
CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
BRIEF TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS...WITH LOCALIZED FLOODING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS MAY REDEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA THIS
EVENING ESPECIALLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 ACROSS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE DURING THE OVERNIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MAY REDEVELOP THIS EVENING
ALONG A WARM FRONT DRAPED ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. THIS WARM
FRONT IS EXPECTED TO LIFT NORTHWARD THIS EVENING AS THE ATTENDANT
SURFACE LOW LIFTS NORTH ACROSS THE PLAINS. A STRENGTHENING LOW
LEVEL JET WILL PROVIDE FORCING FOR ONGOING DEVELOPMENT LATE INTO
THE NIGHT.

HEAVY RAINFALL FELL EARLIER TODAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL...AND
EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS INTO NORTHWEST INDIANA. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
MAY COMPOUND ONGOING FLOOD PROBLEMS ACROSS THESE AREAS.

THE GREATEST HAZARD FROM ANY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS BESIDES THE
HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO BE BE DAMAGING WINDS. WHILE THE
THREAT IS MINIMAL...SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY PRODUCE LARGE HAIL AS
WELL.

PORTIONS OF THE KANKAKEE AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL REMAIN IN
FLOOD.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

AS A STRONG UPPER LEVEL SYSTEM MOVES ACROSS THE REGION
TUESDAY...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TUESDAY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS FOR THE ENTIRE
OUTLOOK AREA WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK.

PORTIONS OF THE KANKAKEE AND ILLINOIS RIVERS WILL REMAIN IN
FLOOD.
