Snow has spread over the area late this evening, including a band of heavier snow from Rockford into the far northern suburbs. The heaviest snow is expected to remain along and north of I-88, but all locations can expect to see snow. A wintry mix has also moved into areas south of the Kankakee River Valley and should continue into early overnight as well. Snow accumulations will occur on many paved surfaces, especially on rural or less traveled roads. If traveling, be prepared for sudden visibility reductions down to a half mile. The snow will gradually diminish after midnight, with most locations receiving less than one half inch, though isolated localized totals over one inch are possible. https://wxn.io/6gdp5 |
