THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH COULD PRODUCE:
WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL.
OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
ISOLATED TORNADO.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

SHOWERS AND EMBEDDED THUNDER WILL BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD BY MID
AFTERNOON AND PERSIST INTO THE EVENING. THE POTENTIAL FOR
ISOLATED STRONG TO POSSIBLY SEVERE STORMS EXISTS IN NORTHERN
ILLINOIS MAINLY EAST OF INTERSTATE 55 AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE
80...AND ALL OF NORTHWEST INDIANA...LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING.

DISCUSSION:

A POTENT AUTUMN STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO USHER UNSEASONABLY
HIGH MOISTURE OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO TONIGHT.
THIS WILL ALLOW STORMS TO BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING SOME PERIODS
OF HEAVY RAINFALL...WHICH COULD RESULT IN QUICK RISES ON AREA
RIVERS AND STREAMS...THOUGH WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS NOT
ANTICIPATED. THERE IS ALSO A LOWER END THREAT THAT SOME STORMS
COULD BE SEVERE...ESPECIALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF A LINE FROM
PONTIAC TO RENSSELAER INDIANA. THE MAIN THREAT WILL BE DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS...HOWEVER CANNOT RULE OUT AN ISOLATED TORNADO.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTERS ALONG AND SOUTH OF A PONTIAC TO RENSSELAER INDIANA LINE
MAY BE NEEDED LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
