NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
THUNDERSTORMS...MAINLY TONIGHT...A FEW OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
HEAVY RAINFALL.
SMALL HAIL.
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
ANY STORMS DURING THE DAYLIGHT HOURS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
MAINLY WEST OF INTERSTATE 39 OR SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. AREAS
OF EMBEDDED THUNDERSTORMS WITHIN WIDESPREAD RAIN ARE EXPECTED
TO MOVE OVER THE REGION THIS EVENING INTO OVERNIGHT.
DISCUSSION:
DEEP MOIST AIR WILL SPREAD NORTHWARD OVER THE REGION THIS
AFTERNOON AND MORE SO TONIGHT. CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL
BEGIN TO INCREASE LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVEN MORE SO TONIGHT.
THE ENVIRONMENT IS NOT PARTICULARLY FAVORABLE FOR SEVERE
STORMS...BUT SOME SEVERE STORMS FROM THE WEST AND SOUTH MAY
MOVE INTO THE AREA...NAMELY PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL AND EAST
CENTRAL ILLINOIS...BEFORE WEAKENING.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR THUNDERSTORMS AT TIMES MONDAY AND
TUESDAY...SOME OF WHICH MAY BE SEVERE...NAMELY MONDAY AFTERNOON
AND EVENING SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 88. THESE STORMS ON MONDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING LOOK TO BE CAPABLE OF LARGE HAIL...STRONG
WINDS...AND POSSIBLY TORNADOES.
