This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Snow Risk late tonight north of I-88.

DISCUSSION...

Rain will rapidly transition to wet snow late tonight, mainly for
areas near and north of I-88. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per
hour are possible in a narrow corridor across northern Illinois
which will lead to snow-coated roadways and hazardous travel
conditions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Significant Snow Risk in the morning north of I-88.
Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Heavy, wet snow, accumulating at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour
is expected to continue which may lead to significant travel
impacts Saturday morning. The greatest impacts are expected north
of I-88, with a sharp cutoff in snow amounts and travel impacts
with southward extent.
