DISCUSSION: Widespread, soaking rain and strong east to northeast winds are expected Sunday into Monday. Winds could gust as high as 40-45 mph near the immediate Illinois lakeshore Sunday evening into Monday. Rises in river and stream levels, some possibly significant, will occur. Flooding may occur on roadways near leaf-clogged sewer drains. Additionally, flooding of parks and trails immediately along the Lake Michigan shore may occur, particularly in Illinois, including the Chicago bike path.
