Elevated Flooding Risk. Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk. DISCUSSION... Widespread rain will move into the area early this morning and last through the entirety of today and tonight with the heaviest rain falling this evening and overnight. With several inches of rainfall expected, particularly along and south of I-80, flash flooding is a concern. In addition, embedded thunderstorms are likely and some mainly south of Illinois Route 24 could be severe this evening. Strong east to northeast winds will gust 45 to 50 mph near the lake resulting in large battering waves and lakeshore flooding, primarily for the Illinois shore. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday. Monday... Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk. Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk. Tuesday... Elevated Frost Risk in the morning.
