THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size, mainly south of the
Kankakee River.
Limited Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 50 to 60 MPH, well
south of the Kankakee River.
Limited Tornado Risk in Benton and southern Ford and Iroquois counties.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Areas of dense fog will persist through mid morning. Thunderstorms
will become likely in the early to mid afternoon for portions of
the area, mainly south of the Kankakee River. It is possible that
some of these thunderstorms could become strong to severe, with
hail the main hazard in any severe thunderstorm. Very heavy
downpours and localized flooding are also possible in any more
intense thunderstorm.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed in the early to mid afternoon south of the
Kankakee River.
