THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Hail Risk...up to Quarter size.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION:
Strong low pressure will move across central Illinois and into
northern Indiana today. Scattered thunderstorms, and locally
heavy rainfall will be possible mainly south of the I-80
corridor through this morning, with a marginal risk of
isolated 1 inch hail. Rainfall in excess of 1 inch is
possible across this same area, especially south of a line
from Pontiac to Rensselaer. Thunderstorms should move out
of the area by midday. Elsewhere, rain may mix with or
briefly change to wet snow before ending across parts of
northern Illinois this afternoon. Some minor slushy
accumulation may occur on grassy surfaces. Very strong
north to northwest winds, with gusts as high as 40 to 45
mph, will develop across the area by late morning, and
persist into tonight. These winds will build large waves on
southern Lake Michigan this afternoon and tonight, which may
cause lake shore flooding along the Indiana Lake Michigan
shore.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
