THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Significant Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
High Swim Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Thunderstorms are likely to develop late this afternoon ahead of a
southward moving cold front. The highest threat for severe
thunderstorm development is along and south of a
line from near Watseka Illinois to Rensselaer Indiana. The threat for
thunderstorms will only last for a short time, as storms should shift
southeast of the area by early this evening. Damaging winds would
be the main concern, possibly brief large hail, with any storms that
form.

This cold front will also create dangerous swim conditions across
Northwest Indiana beaches this afternoon through Tuesday night as
high waves develop fairly quickly when the front arrives.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.

Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may briefly needed mid to late afternoon mainly across Ford,
Iroquois counties in Illinois, Newton, Jasper and Benton in Indiana.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving east-southeast at 40 to 50 mph.
