THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
ELEVATED THUNDERSTORM RISK...WITH AN ASSOCIATED:
LIMITED HAIL RISK...UP TO 1 INCH SIZE.
ELEVATED THUNDERSTORM WIND DAMAGE RISK...UP TO 60 MPH.

LIMITED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.

DISCUSSION:

AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS HAS PUSHED WELL TO THE SOUTH
LEAVING THE OUTLOOK AREA SOMEWHAT STABILIZED EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
HOWEVER...VERY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL RESULT IN MODERATE
TO STRONG INSTABILITY REDEVELOPING LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. A MID LEVEL IMPULSE TRACKING ACROSS THE MIDDLE
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY THROUGH CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND INDIANA WILL BRING
ANOTHER ROUND OF THUNDERSTORMS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS
EVENING. THE MOST FAVORABLE LOCATION FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR...BUT SOME THUNDERSTORMS MAY
BE POSSIBLE JUST NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AS WELL. A FEW OF THE
STRONGEST STORMS MAY PRODUCE LOCALIZED SEVERE WEATHER...PRIMARILY
IN THE FORM OF DAMAGING WINDS...LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS
EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

THURSDAY...
ELEVATED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM RISK.
LIMITED EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.
FRIDAY...
LIMITED THUNDERSTORM RISK.
HIGH SWIM RISK.
SATURDAY...

MONDAY AND TUESDAY...

DISCUSSION:

LOW PRESSURE WILL DEVELOP OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS BY EARLY
THURSDAY...AND WILL LIFT NORTHEAST TO THE NORTHERN GREAT LAKES
THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. THUNDERSTORMS WILL LIKELY BECOME FAIRLY
NUMEROUS THURSDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHT...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
SEVERE WEATHER ESPECIALLY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING
HOURS. THE POTENTIAL FOR VERY STRONG DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE
HAIL AND EVEN AN ISOLATED TORNADO WILL EXIST ESPECIALLY OVER
NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS LATE THURSDAY...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR
DAMAGING WINDS CONTINUING INTO THURSDAY NIGHT ACROSS THE ENTIRE
OUTLOOK AREA.
