THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

LIGHT TO MODERATE INTENSITY LAKE EFFECT SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED
TO SPREAD ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA
DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING AND TAPER IN INTENSITY DURING THE
EARLY TO MID AFTERNOON. A RAPID DIMINISHING IN VISIBILITY AND
QUICK LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATION IS LIKELY AS THE SNOW SHOWERS
BEGIN. AVERAGE ACCUMULATION IN LAKE ADJACENT AREAS OF ONE HALF TO
ONE INCH IS EXPECTED...THOUGH FLUCTUATIONS ARE LIKELY DUE TO THE
NATURE OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW.

SEVERAL RIVERS ARE IN FLOOD OR NEAR FLOOD STAGE...INCLUDING THE
ILLINOIS...IROQUOIS...KANKAKEE...AND VERMILION RIVERS. IN
ADDITION...STANDING WATER IN LOW-LYING OR FLOOD PRONE AREAS WILL
CONTINUE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.

A PERIOD OF LIGHT FREEZING RAIN...SLEET...AND SNOW IS POSSIBLE
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY MORNING BEFORE CHANGING TO RAIN FROM
SOUTH TO NORTH BY MIDDAY THURSDAY.

WATER LEVELS WILL REMAIN HIGH OR IN FLOOD ON AREA RIVERS THROUGH
THE WEEKEND.
