THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF NICKELS.
HEAVY DOWNPOURS.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING.
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
SCATTERED DEVELOPMENT OF STORMS WILL BEGIN EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON AND WE WILL HAVE GREATEST COVERAGE DURING MID
AFTERNOON THROUGH THE EVENING. THERE IS A CHANCE FOR A FEW
LINGERING STORMS OVERNIGHT.
DISCUSSION:
A WEAK COLD FRONT WILL VERY SLOWLY MOVE SOUTH FROM WISCONSIN
THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT. WITH THIS FRONT SITUATED NEAR OR
OVER THE AREA...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE
REGION DURING THE HEATING OF THE DAY AND PERSIST INTO THIS
EVENING. DUE TO AN UPPER DISTURBANCE MOVING OVER THE AREA
TONIGHT...SOME STORMS MAY LINGER OVERNIGHT. SLIGHTLY STRONGER
WINDS IN THE ATMOSPHERE THAN IN RECENT DAYS COMBINED WITH THE
MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY MAY YIELD A COUPLE STRONGER STORMS.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
THERE ARE CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY THROUGH
WEDNESDAY...AND ONCE AGAIN THURSDAY THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT ANTICIPATED THROUGH TONIGHT.
