THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS. THE STRONGEST MAY PRODUCE...
DAMAGING WINDS TO 60 MPH.
ISOLATED TORNADOES.
QUARTER SIZE HAIL.
HEAVY RAIN.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

THE CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL SPREAD EAST THROUGH THIS
AFTERNOON WITH SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE ENTIRE
AREA THIS EVENING. HEAVY RAIN WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST
STORMS. WHILE SOME OF THESE STORMS MAY PRODUCE GUSTY
WINDS...SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED BEFORE 3 AM.

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY
SUNDAY MORNING...GENERALLY NORTHWEST OF A LINE FROM CALUMET CITY
TO PONTIAC. WHILE WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED
BEFORE SUNRISE SUNDAY...SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BECOME
SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE. AN ISOLATED
TORNADO IS ALSO POSSIBLE.

DISCUSSION:

LOW PRESSURE OVER SOUTH DAKOTA WILL MOVE OVER MINNESOTA THIS
EVENING WHILE AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHES FROM THE
WEST. A LINE OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS
IS OVER NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND EXPECTING THE PRECIPITATION TO
SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND PERSIST
OVERNIGHT. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH 3AM.

NEW LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE FROM COLORADO THIS EVENING TO NEAR
IOWA BY SUNDAY MORNING. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE
OVERNIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING ACROSS PARTS OF NORTH CENTRAL
ILLINOIS. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO
PRODUCE DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND POSSIBLY A TORNADO.

NON THUNDERSTORM WINDS COULD GUST AS HIGH AS 40 MPH THIS
AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA SUNDAY WITH SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT SUNDAY
MORNING AND MOVE EAST OF THE AREA BY MID TO LATE SUNDAY
AFTERNOON. THE PRIMARY SEVERE WEATHER THREAT WILL BE DAMAGING
WINDS AND LARGE HAIL BUT AN ISOLATED TORNADO IS ALSO POSSIBLE.

NON THUNDERSTORM WINDS COULD GUST AS HIGH AS 45 MPH SUNDAY.
