Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Fog Risk far northeast Illinois early in the morning.
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Level 3 of 5 Large Hail Risk...up to 3 inch diameter.
Level 3 of 5 Damaging Wind Risk...up to 80 mph.
Level 3 of 5 Tornado Risk.
Elevated Fire Weather Risk.
Limited Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Dense fog continues early this morning across far northeast
Illinois. This will gradually erode after sunrise through mid
morning.
Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to
develop mid afternoon into the evening, with the greatest
coverage expected east of Interstate 39. Any storms that develop
will be capable of producing destructive winds and hail. A tornado
threat may develop as well with the most intense storms.
Late this afternoon into early evening, an elevated fire danger
may develop mainly along and west of Interstate 39.

Significant Fire Weather Risk.
Limited Non-Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Level 1 of 5 Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Critical fire danger may develop areawide Friday afternoon due to
a combination of strong winds up to 45 mph and dry conditions. In
addition, thunderstorms may develop late Friday afternoon and
evening with a threat for damaging winds and hail.

Spotters will likely be needed this afternoon and evening.
