THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

ACCUMULATING LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED TONIGHT ACROSS PORTIONS
OF NORTHWEST INDIANA...MAINLY OVER PORTER COUNTY. IN ADDITION TO
FALLING SNOW...GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING AND WILL CONTRIBUTE TO POOR VISIBILITY AND HAZARDOUS
TRAVEL CONDITIONS. WIND GUSTS WILL INCREASE OVERNIGHT AND MAY
APPROACH 45 MPH AT TIMES NEAR THE LAKE BY THURSDAY MORNING. THESE
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS AND THE ARRIVAL OF COLD ARCTIC AIR WILL
PUSH WIND CHILLS BELOW ZERO OVERNIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

ACCUMULATING LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS LIKELY THROUGH LATE THURSDAY FOR
PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST INDIANA INCLUDING PORTER COUNTY...AND AGAIN LATE
SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT. STRONG NORTHWEST WINDS WILL CAUSE
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND WILL CONTRIBUTE TO POOR VISIBILITY
AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ON THURSDAY...MAINLY IN PORTER
COUNTY.

BITTERLY COLD AIR WILL REMAIN THROUGH THURSDAY...WITH A REINFORCING
PUSH OVER THE WEEKEND. THE COLD AIR WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY GUSTY
WINDS AND SUB ZERO WIND CHILLS AT NIGHT...WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS
SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT POTENTIALLY PRODUCING DANGEROUSLY LOW
WIND CHILLS 20 TO 30 BELOW ZERO.
