will be mid to late morning, with the highest coverage north and
west of Chicago. The severe threat is low with these storms, but
there could be some small hail and gusty winds. Additional
scattered thunderstorms, some of which may be severe, are likely
mid afternoon through the early evening. Damaging wind gusts are the
primary severe threat, but isolated large hail is also possible
along with a few tornadoes. The tornado threat is highest from the
Chicago metro area westward.

thunderstorms may occur after midnight mainly across northern
Illinois.

Areas of dense fog are likely early this morning, mainly near and
south of I-88 in Illinois and across northwest Indiana.
There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm this afternoon south of
the Illinois and Kankakee Rivers.
There is a chance of locally dense fog along the Lake Michigan
shore late this afternoon and tonight, especially the Illinois
shore.
