Fog persists across much of northern Illinois and northwest
Indiana early this morning, particularly along and north of a line
from roughly Sterling to Morris Illinois and to Rensselaer
Indiana. Visibility was generally reported between a quarter and a
half mile in these areas. Improvement will occur from the south
and southwest during the pre-dawn hours however, with visibility
improving to several miles as a warm front lifts across the area.
Until this occurs, locally dense fog can be expected across far
northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, with most areas seeing
no better than a half mile visibility. Travelers are urged to use
caution and to slow down when encountering dense fog. Visibility
should improve significantly prior to sunrise in most places.
