LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY THIS
EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT. THE ATMOSPHERE REMAINS VERY MOIST WITH
THE POTENTIAL FOR SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS EASILY PRODUCING HEAVY
RAIN THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. AS A RESULT OF
THE HEAVY MORNING RAINFALL AND EXPECTED HEAVY RAIN AGAIN THIS

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...IN NORTH
CENTRAL ILLINOIS...BOONE...DE KALB...LA SALLE...LEE...OGLE AND
WINNEBAGO. IN NORTHEAST ILLINOIS...COOK...DUPAGE...GRUNDY...
KANE...KENDALL...LAKE IL...MCHENRY AND WILL.
* FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.
* A ROUND OF MORNING THUNDERSTORMS WILL DISSIPATE SHORTLY AFTER
DAYBREAK. THEN LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO TONIGHT ADDITIONAL
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO REDEVELOP. A VERY MOIST AIRMASS
WILL REMAIN ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS OR MAINLY ALONG AND NORTH
OF INTERSTATE 80. THIS WARM MOIST AIR WILL REMAIN THROUGH THIS
EVENING AND OVERNIGHT...WHICH WILL ALLOW ANY ADDITIONAL
THUNDERSTORMS TO EASILY PRODUCE HEAVY RAIN IN A SHORT PERIOD OF
TIME.
* EARLY MORNING RAIN OF 1 TO 2 INCHES NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 HAS
ALREADY FALLEN. WITH AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS EXPECTED THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT...ALREADY SATURATED SOILS COULD QUICKLY LEAD TO FLASH
FLOODING.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
