Hazardous Weather Outlook

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

HEAT INDICES OF 100 TO 105 DEGREES ARE POSSIBLE FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE INTO NORTHWESTERN ILLINOIS BY EARLY FRIDAY
EVENING AND PROGRESS SOUTHEASTWARD THROUGH NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWESTERN INDIANA OVERNIGHT. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRONT WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE ROCKFORD
AREA BY LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SPREAD SOUTH AND EAST THROUGH
THE NIGHT. LOCATIONS NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 SHOULD SEE THE MOST
EXTENSIVE THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE OVERNIGHT. THE FRONT SHOULD BECOME
NEARLY STATIONARY OVER CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND INDIANA SATURDAY...AND
WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY OVER THE ENTIRE
OUTLOOK AREA THROUGH THE DAY SATURDAY. DEEP LAYER MOISTURE WILL BE
RELATIVELY HIGH IN THE VICINITY OF THE FRONT...AND PERIODS OF
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL ARE POSSIBLE. THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT RISK
OF SOME STORMS REACHING SEVERE LEVELS...WITH STRONG AND DAMAGING
WIND GUSTS BEING THE PRIMARY THREAT. HIGH PRESSURE SPREADING OUT
OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST WILL BRING AN
END TO THE PRECIPITATION CHANCES SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT.

THERE WILL BE AN INCREASED RISK OF RIP CURRENTS SUNDAY THROUGH
MONDAY...ESPECIALLY ALONG THE INDIANA SHORE OF LAKE MICHIGAN.
