Hazardous Weather Outlook 11:06:43.3960297

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH.
LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS.
SMALL HAIL.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING ALONG AND NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 88. THERE IS A CHANCE SOME THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY MAY
SPREAD SOUTH TO THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR OVERNIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

WITH A WARM AND MOIST AIR MASS REMAINING OVERHEAD...INSTABILITY
WILL INCREASE TODAY...ESPECIALLY ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS. THIS
MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY WILL COINCIDE WITH AN APPROACHING COLD
FRONT MOVING IN FROM THE NORTH AND HELP FOR SCATTERED
THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT THIS AFTERNOON. ALTHOUGH WINDS ALOFT
ARE FORECAST TO REMAIN RATHER WEAK...THIS FRONT WILL BE MOVING
THROUGH A HIGH MOISTURE CONTENT AND UNSTABLE AIR MASS WHICH
COULD PROVIDE FOR ISOLATED STRONGER DEVELOPMENT.

HEAT INDEX VALUES APPROACHING 105 DEGREES WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON FROM AREAS SOUTH OF A LINE FROM PONTIAC IN ILLINOIS EAST
TO REMINGTON IN INDIANA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL ONCE AGAIN BE POSSIBLE SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY
NIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA. AS A COLD FRONT PUSHES THROUGH
THE AREA WITH STRONGER FLOW ALOFT APPROACHING...A HIGHER CHANCE
FOR LARGE HAIL AND STRONG DAMAGING WIND GUSTS WILL BE POSSIBLE.

THERE WILL BE AN INCREASED RISK OF RIP CURRENTS SUNDAY THROUGH
MONDAY ALONG BOTH THE ILLINOIS AND INDIANA SHORES OF LAKE
MICHIGAN.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION MAY BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
