Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.  Elevated Flooding Risk.  Limited Excessive heat Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage this afternoon into this evening with the best coverage this evening along and north of Interstate 88. Some storms may be strong to severe. Small hail may be a threat initially, but damaging winds will be possible especially later in the evening. Torrential downpours and training storms may create flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

Elevated Flooding Risk.  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SOUTHWESTERN LAKE AND SOUTHEASTERN MCHENRY COUNTIES UNTIL 245 AM CDT…

At 213 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Bull Valley, or near McHenry, moving east at 40 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include… Gurnee, Mundelein, Algonquin, McHenry, Woodstock, Grayslake, Libertyville, Lake Zurich, Round Lake, Wauconda, Barrington, Island Lake, Long Grove, Wonder Lake, Gages Lake, Long Lake, Lake In The Hills, Huntley, Hawthorn Woods and Johnsburg.

Including the following interstates…

I-94 near mile marker 9.  I-294 near mile marker 9.

This includes… College of Lake County, Lake County IL Fairgrounds, Mchenry County College, and Moraine Hills State Park.
