Elevated Thunderstorm Risk early this evening.  Elevated Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Isolated to scattered thunderstorms along a cold front across southeast portions of the forecast area early this evening will move southeast of the area by late evening.

Fog is expected to develop across much of the area overnight tonight. The fog may be locally dense at times late tonight.

DISCUSSION…

A cold front will move across the area this afternoon, with scattered thunderstorms developing along and ahead of it. The highest coverage of storms is expected to be roughly from Interstate 55 southeastward, with isolated stronger storms capable of producing strong gusty winds and some hail. All thunderstorms will be capable of producing occasional or frequent cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered thunderstorms are expected with a cold front this afternoon into early this evening, with the highest coverage favored to be roughly from Interstate 55 and southeast. Isolated strong thunderstorms capable of producing strong gusty winds and hail are possible. All thunderstorms will be capable of producing occasional to frequent cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours.

Areas of fog are then likely overnight, with the highest coverage of fog potentially along and west of the Fox River valley.
