THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...SOME CAPABLE OF PRODUCING:
WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS.
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE EARLY THIS AFTERNOON
ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS...ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED LATER THIS EVENING.

DISCUSSION:
A COLD FRONT WILL SLOWLY SLIDE SOUTH FROM THE UPPER MIDWEST
THIS AFTERNOON. AHEAD OF THIS BOUNDARY THE ATMOSPHERE WILL
BECOME UNSTABLE OVER NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
WITH A FEW ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING EARLY THIS
AFTERNOON. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN
ACROSS WISCONSIN AND SLIDE SOUTH LATER THIS AFTERNOON...
REACHING NORTHERN ILLINOIS MAINLY AFTER 5 PM. CONSIDERABLE
SHEAR WITHIN THE ATMOSPHERE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
AS THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY NEARS NORTHERN ILLINOIS...WHICH
WILL PROVIDE A WIND THREAT FROM ANY STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS
THAT PUSH SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS.
THUNDERSTORMS SHOULD BE PROGRESSING QUICKLY TO THE SOUTH AND
SOUTHEAST...WITH MOST THUNDERSTORMS COMING TO AN END
BEFORE MIDNIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.
