THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

THUNDERSTORMS...THE STRONGEST OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

WIND GUSTS OF 50-60 MPH.
SMALL HAIL.
FREQUENT LIGHTNING.
HEAVY DOWNPOURS WITH LOCALIZED FLOODING.

AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THIS
AFTERNOON ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
BETTER CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS WILL ARRIVE ACROSS NORTHERN
ILLINOIS STARTING LATE THIS AFTERNOON OR EARLY EVENING AND
SPREAD EAST OVERNIGHT.

DISCUSSION:

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED PULSE THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE AREA
WIDE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE MAIN SEVERE THREAT WITH
THESE INITIAL STORMS WILL BE FOR AN ISOLATED SEVERE WIND GUST.
BETTER ORGANIZED THUNDERSTORMS AND ATTENDANT SEVERE WEATHER
THREAT WILL SPREAD EAST ACROSS THE REGION THIS EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH THE AREA.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ON WEDNESDAY...AND ARE EXPECTED TO
RETURN AGAIN SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. SOME OF THE
THUNDERSTORMS ON WEDNESDAY COULD BE SEVERE...MAINLY OVER FAR
NORTHEASTERN AND EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND NORTHWESTERN INDIANA.
