Hazardous Weather Outlook for McHenry Co., IL

<pre>FLUS43 KLOT 172048
HWOLOT

Hazardous Weather Outlook
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
348 PM CDT Fri Jul 17 2020

Winnebago-Boone-McHenry-Lake IL-Ogle-Lee-De Kalb-Kane-DuPage-
La Salle-Kendall-Grundy-Kankakee-Livingston-Iroquois-Ford-
Northern Cook-Central Cook-Southern Cook-Northern Will-
Southern Will-Eastern Will-Lake IN-Porter-Newton-Jasper-Benton-
348 PM CDT Fri Jul 17 2020 /448 PM EDT Fri Jul 17 2020/

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk late at night.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk late at night.
Limited Flooding Risk late at night.
Significant Excessive Heat Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Excessive Heat Risk, mainly south of US-24.
Monday through Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Dangerous heat with peak heat indices near or over 105 degrees
are expected on Saturday. There is an increasing likelihood that
a cluster of thunderstorms will affect areas along and north of
I-80 late Saturday night into early Sunday. This includes a risk
for isolated damaging winds and possibly a couple instances of
hail. There is uncertainty on how quickly the thunderstorms will
weaken Sunday morning as they move south. Additonal scattered
thunderstorms may then develop later Sunday afternoon into Sunday
evening with a cold front, primarily south of I-80, which also
could include a risk for strong to severe thunderstorms. Heat
index values of near or around 105 degrees are possible Sunday
afternoon mainly south of US-24.

Periodic thunderstorm chances will then resume on Monday night
and continue through much of the week. Heavy downpours from
thunderstorms early Sunday through mid next week could cause
localized flash flooding.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
