At 413 AM CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms over
northeast Illinois, many of which were capable of producing small
hail to dime size. The strongest of these storms was located
near Palatine, moving northeast at 55 mph.

Dime size hail that could come down heavy and cover the ground is
possible with any of these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Elgin, Waukegan, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg,
Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman
Estates, Glenview, Elmhurst, Lombard, Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream,
Carpentersville, Wheeling and Park Ridge.

Dime size hail will be possible with this storm.

Zion, Grayslake, Libertyville, Lake Forest, Round Lake, Antioch,

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Isolated thunderstorms are expected tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Friday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk late at night.
Saturday...
Limited Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Isolated thunderstorms are possible north of I-80 early Friday
morning, none of those are expected to be severe. Additional
scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop Friday afternoon,
especially across northwest Indiana and points eastward. If
thunderstorms develop before they move east of the outlook area,
then there is a risk that they could become severe. If severe
weather occurs, the primary risk would likely be damaging winds.

A period of snow is expected Friday night into early Saturday
morning. Some minor accumulations are possible, especially near
the Wisconsin border where up to an inch could fall.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
